Tell Me your Story

Do you want to come out but feel you can't because of your parents, your friends, your church or because of what others might think? If so, I want to hear your story. You don't have to use your real name, just plug in a username and your hometown. Hopefully, your story will help to inspire change and help others who feel the same. You are not alone.

I hid my being gay for years. I knew it wasn't acceptable to my parents or my friends. I went to a religious high school where I felt the possibility of being gay didn't exist. Later, in college, I tried everything to hide by dating girls and trying to "act straight." I did it all so that no one would suspect I was gay. My biggest fear was that I would be discovered. That, I thought, would be the worst thing in the world. I didn't want to disappoint anyone and I couldn't imagine telling anyone the truth.

If this sounds at all like you, you're not alone. There are probably thousands, if not millions, out there who are also going through the same thing.

Tell me your story. Hopefully, your words will inspire and give hope to someone else and also let them know that they are not alone. For me, I know that once I finally told someone, I started to feel better about it.
